Philippians 3:7-11
But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the
sake of Christ.  What is more, I consider everything a loss
compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ
Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I
consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in
him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from
the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the
righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.  I want to
know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the
fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in
his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection
from the dead.

BY MY SIDE
Philippians 3:7-11

There’s a cold wind blowing.
I know this feeling well.
Pretty soon the night will fall on me.
I’m standing at the crossroads.
I must make a choice.
There’s an easy way but it won’t set me free.
And there’s a narrow path I know that I should take.
There’s a lie that’s filled with pleasure
and it’s calling out my name.

But I’d rather walk the lonely valleys with You by my side
than to face a day of sunshine without You.
‘Cause a life that’s lived without you
is just a one-way street to pain.
It’s a life that’s guaranteed to always lose.
So take me to the mountains or the valleys down below
‘cause my mind is made up.
I’m holding on to You.  Holding on to you.

I find myself surrounded.
There’s a threat on every on side.
The storm is almost here and I’m alone.
My prayers will soon be useless or so it will seem.
I’ve got to try to walk by faith on this one.
But I’m not afraid.  I know that You are here.
So let the cold winds blow, ‘cause I’m walking anyway.
