| A Native American elder once described his own inner struggles in this manner: "Inside of me there are two dogs. One of the dogs is mean and evil. The other dog is good. The mean dog fights the good dog all the time." When asked which dog wins, he reflected for a moment and replied, "The one I feed the most." George Bernard Shaw |

| Artist Note: One afternoon, I was having a bad day. I was angry and upset and I had a splitting sinus headache and fell asleep in the chair. I dreamed, briefly and intensely, that snakes had crawled up onto my face and laying there, pulsing against my skin. It was so vivid that when I awoke, I looked around for a few seconds, sure that I would see the snakes crawling away from where I sat. The reason that I was so upset was that another artist was getting credit and attention that I wanted for myself. I was angry and jealous of her success. The snake in the dream is my jealousy. The snake will control me, choke me, kill me, if I let it. |
