Hush

Abusers have this thing they do. They lie all the time.  They hurt you and they convince you it is your fault.  They say, " If you weren't bad, I wouldn't hurt you.  If you weren't so good, I wouldn't hurt you."   They lie. They tell you not to tell. They say if you tell anybody, nobody will believe you.  They say if you tell anybody, they will kill your mom or your brother or your dog. They say if you tell anybody, everybody will think you are the one who is bad. They lie. They take away your voice.  They take away your ability to tell the truth. They lie.
