Mask
I think this is probably my truest work.  I
made it on a morning when I was really
frustrated with myself.  I had so much to
say and couldn't find the words or the
image to say it out loud, so I just began
to draw and paint.  Five hours passed
and I was unaware of anything around
me.  Five hours later, I surfaced to find
this image on the paper.

Sometimes there aren't words that feel
big enough or strong enough to express
how we feel.  "I hurt" doesn't say it
enough to express the depth of our pain.
"I love" isn't deep enough to say the joy
we feel in our spouse or child.

On this day, I didn't have the words.  I
was blind; I was deaf; I was mute.
